3 strategies to use everyday to build your business network. Sometimes being your own boss can be really lonely which is why it's important to build a community of boss babes and lady bosses around you that get where you are.

When you started your business, I’m sure you didn’t anticipate how incredibly lonely it would feel at times.

You probably didn’t think it would be so hard to meet like-minded women in business or to build real and meaningful business relationships. But you know you need to build relationships, yet does it have to be so challenging?

"But you know you need to build relationships, yet does it have to be so challenging?"

Building Business relationships is not the easiest and most enjoyable process to navigate. In fact, many have an experience similar to this when it comes to networking: You feel uncomfortable to stand in a room full of people you don't really know, to make awkward eye contact and to attempt to spark conversation.

And then, you look around and begin to feel like everyone is having a great time, except you. So, you manage to have a few conversations but you simply can't wait to leave and probably never return.

But you’re not alone.

I talk to women all over the world and hear the same concerns about business & relationships. Many of them are saying the same things about the lack of connection they feel and how they long to build real and meaningful relationships.

3 strategies to use everyday to build your business network. Sometimes being your own boss can be really lonely which is why it's important to build a community of boss babes and lady bosses around you that get where you are.

You’re not the only one who wonders if anyone else feels this disconnected or this unsure about how to approach relationship building in business.

You’re not alone.  And the good news is; business doesn’t have to feel this way and building relationships doesn’t have to be so intimating and shallow. There’s a better way.

More good news; I want to share with you three simple strategies you can use every day to build your business network. And by building your business network, I don’t only mean by size, but mostly by strength. The number of connections you have can be helpful, but it’s more so about the strength of those relationships.

Recognize & Compliment

When I’m out and about and I see someone wearing something I think is gorgeous; I tell them. This is essentially what this strategy is all about. When you look around and see people accomplishing great things (big or small…it’s all relative anyway), then recognize it and compliment it. You may know how much work goes into launching a new service, hosting an event, building a team or even speaking at an event; so why not recognize and celebrate others when they accomplish these things and more?

Extend the offer

When you’re at the mall and you walk pass the food court; you can guess there’s going to be at least one person offering you a sample. You may not accept it, but what if you do?  How lost would you be had you not had the offer extended to you?  Okay I’m stretching this one a little bit, but I hope you get the point I’m trying to make. Extend the offer to connect. This may mean you have to get out of your comfort zone, but it’s in our discomfort that we grow. You may send an email to invite someone to coffee. The point is to reach out and extend the offer to connect.

Remember when you ordered those beautiful shoes just in time for an event, but you weren’t sure if they were going to arrive in time? So what did you do? You started tracking them and you followed up it to make sure you had your eyes on them. The power in building relationships is in the follow-up. Even after you have a great one-on-one meeting, you want to make sure to follow-up and stay connected. Don’t leave it to chance or you may lose out on some great connections.

If you’re in business, then you also need to effectively and consistently market your business. And marketing is all about building relationships. That’s really all it is at the core. Therefore, strong and healthy business relationships are the lifeline of your business. You simply can’t live without them. If you’re interested in learning more about how to build real and meaningful business relationships, then I’d like to encourage you to pick up my book EntrepreFriendships on Amazon or Kindle.

About the book

In my book, EntrepreFriendships, I document the step-by-step process to building real and meaningful business relationships. And because marketing is all about building relationships and meaningful relationships start and last with a genuine commitment to support and serve others, thus this book is based on that principle: Support & Serve.

What you will learn: Learn the step-by-step process to make more meaningful connections, earn greater business opportunities and develop real business relationships.

Learn how to identify networking opportunities; how to create great introductions; how to follow-up and get new opportunities to connect; how to build relationships that are mutually beneficial; how to get more strategic with networking and much more.

This book will get you to thinking. And if you’re serious it will get you doing things that are unconventional—not because they’re revolutionary, but instead because they go back to the roots and the basics of humanity. And that's to connect with people & build relationships.
